Defining moments is part of the baggage of being in life. They usually present to you in your moments of weakness and because of the egotistical nature of man they will take you by surprise. In Attorney-General Garland’s case, his defining moment was sculpted by the complex variables and thirst power spheres of influence in the National political arena. In 2016, while Garland was Chief Judge of the District of Columbia Federal Circuit Court nobody with an average sense of logic and mind gave Donald J. Trump the slightest possibility of being elected president of the United States. From that moment the future was busy building a scenario for the most important defining moment of his life: deciding to enforce the fundamental constitutional principle of ‘equal justice under the law and that nobody is above the law’.
The Congressional Select Committee on the January 6 Insurrection attempt” has revealed the seditious, insurrection and the first attempt by an outgoing president, after losing the election, by planning and asking violent groups with a clear history of violence, to storm the U.S. Capitol to prevent the Constitutional transfer of power by pretending to stop the Electoral College proceeding as mandated by the Constitution. The “tourist mob” as categorized by GOP members of Congress and Trump mouthpieces was responsible for the deaths of 5 Capitol police and more than 140 injured Capitol police officers. The events of January 6 were not spontaneous. They were carefully planned to begin in December of 2020. The participant used The White House in the same manner that Richard M. Nixon used it to plan and direct the assault against the Democratic National Committee in the Watergate scandal. At least 40 members of the Nixon Administration were indicted or went to prison including Attorney General John Mitchell and senior members of the president’s staff.
The Congressional Select Committee has partially fulfilled the obligation when each one of its members took the sacred oath “to defend preserve and protect the Constitution”. The Committee must make clear and solid recommendations to the Justice Department to prosecute anyone, including Donal J. Trump, his counselors John Eastman, and former mayor Rudy Giuliani for seditious crimes of trying to subvert the Constitution of the United States. Violence may erupt in many locations in the United States. But if we have to pay the high price of lives paid by American armed forces in the fight against the Nazi regime in Europe it is not an obligation is a duty that every American owes to present and future generations.
The United States government cannot afford to give a “free jail pass” to Trump and his Vertical Integrated Criminal Enterprise because of the fear of an uprising of armed white supremacist neonazi groups and cells throughout the Nation. Is that the price to protect our democratic way of life so be it! Not prosecuting or impeaching the former President is in itself a violation of the oath that Attorney General Merrick Garland expressed during his sworn-in ceremony “to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. Martin Luther King jr said it best: “The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral, begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy. Instead of diminishing evil, it multiplies it. Through violence, you may murder the liar, but you cannot murder the lie, nor establish the truth. Through violence, you murder the hater, but you do not murder hate. In fact, violence merely increases hate…Returning violence for violence multiples violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: Only love can do that.” Trump and his gang will continue trying to regain the power they lost in 2020 in the upcoming national elections. Not prosecuting any of the culprits involved in the seditious and treasonous attempted “Cou d’ Etat” is throwing the “rule of law” and the constitution into the wind.” Trump is offering blanket pardons to traitors of the Constitution.
The Federal Government must face the culprits of January 6 head-on! If the army is required to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and our democracy… so be it! Passivity and complacency are not options in the present defining moment.
After all, what is at stake is the American way of life”.
